A man is wanted by authorities after a shooting incident in Stone County.
The Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in locating 43-year-old Mathew Washington of Crane. Washington is the suspect in a shooting that took place around 9:00 Monday night on Timerline Road in Crane.
According to a release from the department, Deputies arrived on the scene and found a 63-year-old female with a gunshot wound to the head. She was transported to an area hospital and reported to be in stable condition.
Washington fled on foot after the incident and is currently the subject of a manhunt conducted by the Stone and Christian County Sheriff’s Offices as well as the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The release says that Washington is considered armed and dangerous and anyone with information on his whereabouts should call 9-1-1.
