Man Dies in ATV Crash in Stone County

A man from Wright County dies in an ATV Crash in northern Stone County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Accident Report, the crash took place on Carolina Road north of Hurley around 6:00 Tuesday morning when the ATV driven by 33-year-old Daniel Norton of Norwood failed to negotiate a curve, traveled down an embankment, and overturned ejecting the Morton from the vehicle. Morton was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is the 16th fatality in traffic crashes worked by Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 2024.
