OZARK, Mo. — The Christian County Health Department (CCHD) confirmed Wednesday that a student within the Ozark School District has contracted tuberculosis.
Public health officials in the county are working with school administrators, healthcare providers and other community groups to make sure all students, staff and families are safe, according to a press release from CCHD.
“TB is a serious but treatable disease,” said CCHD Health Administrator Emily Lattin. “We want to reassure the community that the risk of transmission in school settings is generally low, and our team is working closely with the school to identify anyone who may have had close contact with the student and ensure they receive appropriate testing and follow-up care.”
