Lawsuits Filed Against the City of Highlandville

The City of Highlandville continues to see turmoil within its government as a pair of lawsuits have been filed by former employees and officials.

The first lawsuit was filed for former Police Chief Warren Hagar, the person who had initially brought concerns up about the handling of a domestic assault call and about the training of that officer by Mayor Clint Ellingsworth. After a report by KOLR-10 Investigates aired in December, Hagar's home burned to the ground which investigators say could have been intentionally though the findings were inconclusive. The lawsuit lays out several claims including First Amendment Rights violations.

The second lawsuit, filed late last week, is by the City's former Emergency Management Coordinator Madrid Hill, who is claiming that he suffered a major injury after he was required to test the city's wastewater without proper equipment.
