The dispute between the Board of Aldermen and the Mayor in Forsyth continues as the board recently passed motions to continue impeachment proceedings.
At the meeting earlier this month, the board approved spending $30,000 to begin the impeachment process against Mayor Julie AuBuchon.
Aubuchon, who was elected Mayor last April, was confronted by members of the board who said she had created a hostile work environment, and several staff members have left since the beginning of her tenure. The board did vote to censure Aubuchon for her actions late last year.
Aubuchon denied any wrongdoing and said during the meeting that she has seen some things she doesn’t like and this process could help shed light on both sides of the story.
If the process continues, the impeachment will lead to a public trial in the coming weeks.
