Imagine Technical Institute: Helping People with Disabilities Get Into the Workforce

A new program designed to help connect people with disabilities with potential employers is looking to launch in February.

Imagine Technical Institute comes from a desire by area resident Tim Connell to develop a program to help adults with disabilities get training and get connected with potential opportunities in the area workforce, teaming up with another group in Missouri, the Boone Center, Inc. of St. Peters, to develop training and placement programs.

Imagine Regional Director Nick Clinton-Elliott, during an interview on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program, said that the program also provides training for potential employers on working with and utilizing the skills of the individuals coming through the program. Clinton Elliott said the program will begin by focusing on individuals in Taney, Christian, and Greene Counties but intend to expand services for other are counties in the future.

The group will hold an Open House at their center on State Drive in Hollister Thursday January 18 from 4:00-6:30 pm. Clinton-Elliott said people are welcome to stop by, but would request those planning to attend to RSVP online on their Facebook Page.
