BRANSON, Mo. — The second annual Holocaust Education and Awareness Week kicked off in Branson today at the IMAX Theater.
This year is centered around showing movies about the Holocaust – focusing on kids impacted by the tragic events.
Shirah Miriam Aumann, founder of the Antisemitism Education Center of the Ozarks, said she hopes to educate those who live in Branson and those who are just visiting.
“We have to do something to teach against hatred and genocide,” Aumann said. “Or we are going to repeat those mistakes of the past.”
Aumann said strides have been made when it comes to Holocaust education in Missouri, specifically in schools after the Never Again Education Act was passed under the Trump administration.
