Herschend Enterprises Launches New Education Opportunity For Employees

As Silver Dollar City attractions prepare for their annual Job Fair this weekend, a new benefit program is being made available to employees through SDC's Parent Company Herschend Enterprises.

"Herschend's Grow U" will offer all eligible seasonal, part-time, and full-time employees and hosts through a partnership with Guild's Learning Marketplace the opportunity to earn degrees and advance their education free of charge. The program officially launches on February 24 through all of their properties across the country. 

It is an additional benefit to those already provided to their employees with the opportunity to get a job through the local properties available through the Job Fair which is this Friday and Saturday.

Today, Herschend Enterprises, Silver Dollar City’s parent company and the nation’s largest privately-owned themed attractions corporation, announced it will cover 100% of tuition, fees and books for all 11,000 employees who choose to pursue further education. The significant investment in employee education will be made through Herschend’s GROW U. The program aims to make it exponentially easier for employees at all levels to pursue their personal and professional dreams through education.   

Herschend’s GROW U. officially launches February 24, 2022, for all seasonal, part-time and full-time employees across 25 US attractions including Silver Dollar City, Showboat Branson Belle, White Water and the Silver Dollar City Campground.

HOW IT WORKS Herschend’s GROW U. offers 11,000 eligible seasonal, part-time and full-time employees and hosts more than 100 fully-funded (100% free) diploma, degree and certificate programs across 30 learning partners in Guild’s Learning Marketplace, including programs in high-demand fields such as business administration and leadership, culinary,

finance, technology and marketing. Additionally, the company will provide partial funding up to $5,250/year, for 150 additional programs in fields including hospitality, engineering, human resources and art design.

Herschend Enterprises selected Guild Education, the nation’s leading education and upskilling platform, to power Herschend’s GROW U. because of their strong reputation for connecting employers and high-value learning providers to create opportunities for America’s workforce. Kicking off the 2022 season, Silver Dollar City Attractions announces a Job Fair, February 11 & 12, offering a variety of positions throughout the award-winning properties.  Generations of people say most every job is an adventure at Silver Dollar City theme park, White Water water park, Showboat Branson Belle and the Silver Dollar City Campground. From retail, parking, front gate, maintenance and ticket greeters, to food, bakery and serving positions – or working on attractions like the record-breaking Time Traveler or touring guests through the legendary Marvel Cave.

About the Job Fair:

  • Applicants should bring a valid form of identification
  • Who should apply?  One must be at least 14 years of age to be considered for employment at Silver Dollar City and retirees are encouraged, too. The 14 and 15-year-old program is a great place to start a career, or just have a fun job!
