With summer officially ending on Sunday, the last days of the season will feel like July and August.
Forecasters with the National Weather Service expect some areas of the Lakes Region to reach 90 degrees over the next two days with some heat index readings around 100. There is a slight chance of some scattered thunderstorms this evening before the warm-up for Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile the dry conditions have officials in Arkansas watching fire conditions. The Department of Agriculture’s Forestry Division has posted a moderate wildfire danger for parts of northern Arkansas including Boone, Carroll, Madison, and Newton Counties.

A front will bring cooler temperatures and some scattered rain by the end of the weekend.
