Extremely hot temperatures are back in the forecast for today with a Heat Advisory in effect this afternoon for southern Missouri and northern Arkansas.
Forecast highs will approach 100 with heat index readings possible up to 110 degrees. Officials are urging caution when taking part in outdoor activities today.
There is a chance of thunderstorms with localized heavy rain and severe storms possible this evening into Thursday. Forecasts indicate the Lakes Region will have mainly scattered rain with less than a 50% chance of precipitation.
