Two men from California are facing charges after being accused of damaging Wolly Mammoth Fossil at Top of the Rock.
According to the probable cause statement filed by the Taney County Sheriff’s office, Brett Howard and Todd Azevedo damaged the tusk when one lifted the other up to the fossil after which he tried to hang from it and broke it. The two men ran and later were caught by security.
The state said each man is facing a felony charge damaging the tusk with an estimated value of $200,000. The men were released after posting a $15,000 Bond each.
