First Responders Busy During Friday Snow

The system that brought brief but heavy snow to the Lakes Region kept First Responders busy Friday morning.

Ozarks First talked with Western Taney County Fire Chief Jim Furgerson, who said the calls consisted of mainly slide-offs with the snow that began falling after 8:00 and became heavy between 8:30 and 9:00. Though temperatures were just below freezing, the wet snow made driving difficult, especially in negotiating curves and stops on the area roads.

Furgerson also told Ozarks First that the storm gave the department a practice run for potential future storms, including possible winter weather early next week.

The complete story can be found on the Ozarks First Website.
