Fireworks are suspected to be the cause of a fire that damaged two houses and destroyed a shed, outbuilding and two RVs Tuesday night north of Branson.
Chris Berndt, chief of the Western Taney County Fire Protection District, said 32 firefighters from five stations were called to battle the blazes reported about 11:15 p.m. on Cannon Ball Loop, just west of U.S. 65.
Fireworks that landed on the roof of the shed are thought to have started the fire that spread to the outbuilding and nearby structures, RVs and homes, he said.
No injuries were reported, but the two homes are not habitable, the chief said. One of the homes was insured and the other was not.
