A long range economic initiative for Stone County coordinated by the Table Rock Lake Chamber of Commerce is underway.
Chamber Executive Director Shelia Thomas, during on interview on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program, talked about the program called "Launch Stone County." Thomas says a study began last October to develop a five year plan through several committees that would include studies involved with housing, business recruitment and retention and would results in a plan that would develop goals and strategies for economic development and growth.
Thomas said around 75 community members are working on the plan and develop branding for the region. Thomas said a presentation with more details on the initiative will be made soon.
Thomas also talked about the chamber's recent role in the announcement of a major facility coming to Crane and future events including Fireburst in July.
