Dry Conditions Return to the Lakes Region

With little rain over the last few weeks, the Lakes Region has seen the return of Dry Conditions.

According to the latest map from the U.S. Drought Monitor, the Missouri Lakes Region counties of Barry, Stone, Taney, and Ozark as well as Carroll, central and north Boone, and northern Marion Counties in Arkansas are all showing an Abnormally Dry Level, which means lower river levels and an increase fire hazard. Late summer and early autumn rain had lifted the area to normal levels before the recent lack of rainfall.

Some rain is in the forecast for today and Saturday with amounts of only a quarter to half an inch expected.
