Drought levels in the Lakes Region are nearly identical to last week.
According to the latest map released by the U.S. Drought Monitor, the highest level of drought is still in southern Missouri, where areas northeast of a Kimberling City-Branson-Protem line remain in Severe Drought while other areas remain Abnormally Dry to Moderate Drought.
In northern Arkansas, no drought level is indicated on a line southwest of Blue Eye-Harrison-Western Grove while other areas are at a Moderate Drought Level.
The dry conditions will continue over the next few days with strong winds elevating fire risk both Friday and Saturday.
