Despite the recent snowfall, drought conditions remain in the Lakes Region.
According to the latest map from the U.S. Drought Monitor, the drought level has gone to Extreme in parts of Arkansas including the southern part of Marion County and most of Searcy County. All or most of Stone, Taney, and Ozark Counties in Missouri along with Boone and Newton Counties in Arkansas remain at a Severe Level while the western portions of the Lakes Region remain at Moderate Drought Level.
The areas at Extreme Level show very low water levels and stress on trees and other winter foliage.
The next major chance of precipitation in the Lakes Region is next Tuesday.
