The drought impact all depends on where you are in the Lakes Region.
According to the latest map from the U.S. Drought Monitor, a Severe Drought Level exists northeast of a line from Aurora to Branson to Yellville. The rest of the Missouri Lakes Region is either at a Moderate or Abnormally Dry Level.
Drought impacts are not as great in northwest Arkansas with areas around Harrison Abnormally Dry. The drought line in Arkansas is generally from Blue Eye to Alpena to Jasper with areas west of there not at a drought level currently.
For areas in Severe Drought, water levels remain low and vegetation is stressed. In addition, moderate fire hazards are also in place.
Besides a slight chance of rain today, the forecast calls for dry conditions to remain for the next seven days.
