Even as some areas of the Ozarks has seen several rounds of rainfall, the impact of drought conditions continues to expand in parts of the Lakes Region.
According the latest map from the U.S. Drought Monitor, areas around Branson are up to a Moderate Drought Level from Abnormally Dry. The lone exception is the Cassville/Roaring River area of Barry County which is still Abnormally Dry.
While drought levels are higher, for the most part Arkansas has maintained the same level for several weeks with areas around Harrison and to the southeast at an Extreme to Exceptional Level with the rest of the region at a Moderate to Severe Level.
The areas with the highest level, including parts of Marion and Searcy Counties, are experiencing low water levels along with impacts on vegetation and wildlife.
The Lakes Region is expected chances of scattered showers over the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend.
