City of Branson Joins 46th Judicial Circuit in Restricting Electronic Devices in Court Facilities

Branson is restricting cell phones and other devices from the City Hall Municipal Court courtroom; the full press release is available to read below.

New Policy Takes Effect August 1

(BRANSON, Mo, 7/20/23) – Beginning August 1, 2023, the City of Branson will no longer allow cell phones or any other electronic devices into the Municipal Court courtroom at City Hall. If visitors arrive with a device, they will be directed to return it to their vehicle or leave it in the possession of someone in their party as there will be no arrangements made for secure storage.

The Municipal Court of the City of Branson is a division of the Circuit Court of the 46th Judicial Circuit, which encompasses all of Taney County. The Court handles alleged traffic, ordinance and parking violations along with overseeing court appearances, fine payments and community service.

“This new policy of not allowing recordings of any kind in our courtroom is in line with practice in the 46th Judicial Circuit,” said Municipal Judge Thomas Motley, who is responsible for hearing cases brought before the Court by the Branson City Prosecutor. “This will go into effect the first of August with the only exception for members in good standing of the Missouri Bar Association.”

The courtroom is located inside City Hall, located at 110 W. Maddux Street. For more information on the City’s Municipal Court, go to the Municipal Division section of our website at www.BransonMo.Gov/201/Municipal-Divison
