CBCO: The Need for Blood Donations Ongoing

The need for blood is an ongoing situation according to a local blood agency. 

Michelle Teter, Community Relations Representative for the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks, says during an interview on KRZK’s “Ozarks Now” program that 200 donations are needed per day to help keep the supplies adequate for the 44 area hospitals the CBCO provides blood for in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas. 

Teter says that people have been slow to donate blood again and that organizations are just beginning to host drives again after the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Three blood drives are in the region this week, today at Branson Tri-Lakes News office from 11-5, Thursday at Cox Medical Center Branson from 11-5, and Friday at the White River Valley Electric office from 8-2. Other drives will be coming up in both Arkansas and Missouri over the next several weeks.
