Businesses around the region have stepped up to offer support for Christian County Deputies Gabriel Ramirez and Micheal Hislope who were killed in the line of duty earlier this week.
One of those businesses was in Branson, as Hurt’s Donuts on West 76 Country Boulevard offered a “Back the Blue” donut all day Wednesday with 100% of the profits from those sales going to the families of the victims. Taylor Doron of Hurt’s tells Ozarks First that the business was non-stop with people making the trip from several hours away purchasing the donuts plus many who volunteered to help in the store.
An updated Facebook post plus a visit by KRZK’s Scott McCaulley early Wednesday evening indicated that they had sold out of the donuts with the images but were still producing donuts with a blue line on them. The Facebook post also indicated $16,000 raised between Midnight and 5:00 pm with sales continuing until Midnight last night.
B-29 Café in Ozark also is helping the families of the fallen deputies as well as the deputies injured in Monday’s manhunt and shootout.
