The burning of yard waste led to a fire that impacted three buildings and brush in the surrounding area.
According to a post from the Western Taney County Fire Protection District, units were dispatched to Fritz Lane near Rockaway Beach around 5:40 Wednesday afternoon and found two buildings well involved and a third building that had just started to burn.
Eventually eight crews battled the blaze with Mutual Aid assistance from Central Taney County Fire and help from the Missouri Highway Patrol, Taney County Ambulance, Taney County Sheriff’s Office, and White River Valley Electric. One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion but otherwise no injuries were reported.
Fire crews spend around four hours on the scene.
