Brief Tornado Touch Down at Golf Course

Some golfers teeing off at Payne's Valley Golf Course had a surprise waiting for them Monday afternoon.

Pastor Ted Cunningham of Woodland Hills Family Church. a regular contributor to "The Clay Cooper Experience" Radio Show on Legends 1063 and Harrison's Original KHOZ, posted video on Facebook Monday of a short-lived tornado that touchdown near the first tee of the golf course that is part of the Buffalo Ridge area south of Hollister. The tornado appeared to dissipate shortly after it was forming. 

The National Weather Service did list it in it's storm report for the area and said no damage had been reported. Although no Tornado Warning was issued by the NWS, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the areas just east of Branson and Hollister had been issued a few minutes earlier and that cell continue to stay at a severe level as it crossed through central Taney County into Ozark County during the rest of the afternoon. No other reports of damage associated with the storm has been posted by the National Weather Service.
