In a recorded message on her Instagram Account, the nephew of Dolly Parton announces the death of the Country Music Icon at the age of 80.

The message, also shared on Parton's Facebook Account, was recorded by her nephew Brian Seaver, who is also in charge of her security. Seaver did not give any specifics of her passing or when it occurred, but messages started posting on various social media and news media accounts around 1:00 CDT.

Parton had recently recorded a video talking about her health issues in general, which led to several shows being canceled and her scheduled appearance at a ride opening at Dollywood to be done remotely.

Dolly Parton was one of the most influential figures in country music, known for songs such as Jolene, I Will Always Love You, and 9 to 5. Beyond music, she was widely recognized for her philanthropy, especially the Imagination Library literacy program.

Dolly's Stampede has been a fixture in Branson for several years.

More information on her passing will be posted as information is released.
