The Branson Parks and Recreation Department is already seeing a positive response from the sporting community after beginning turf replacement at the Branson RecPlex.
The turf project, which will replace the grass baseball and softball fields at the RecPlex with artificial turf, was approved earlier this year by the Branson Board of Aldermen and funded in part by a grant from the American Rescue Plan Act.
“We are already seeing the positive impact of converting to turf,” Branson Parks & Recreation Director Cindy Shook said. “Our numbers are skyrocketing because we can now provide a higher-end experience on fields that aren’t constrained by rain delays, one of the biggest disadvantages to dirt fields and considered a risk factor by event organizers who select tournament locations.”
