K-9 Stark of the Greene County Sheriff's Department died following a surgery he initially survived; the K-9 and his handler trained with Branson’s Police Department multiple times.
The Branson Police Department posted on their Facebook Page to honor the K-9. “It is with great sadness that we share this post from the Greene County Sheriff's Department. The Branson K-9 unit had the pleasure on numerous occasions to train with K-9 Stark and his handler. K-9 Stark was clearly a great asset to the Greene County Sheriff's Department and will be missed greatly by his department and the community he served.” The Branson PD shared the original announcement from Greene County PD. The original post was made on July 10.
The original post states that “Deputy Stark underwent emergency surgery this morning to correct a twisted stomach and spleen. Although he survived the procedure, his heart failed during the critical stages of recovery and he was lost.” The German Shepherd was five years old.
