Branson Officials, Business Owners, Residents Take Part in Economic Development Meeting

The City of Branson hosted a pair of meetings last seeking feedback from the community regarding the city’s economic development plans and policies.

The meeting drew dozens of residents and Branson business owners who voiced their views about the future of attracting businesses to the members of the Board of Aldermen.

Branson Mayor Larry Milton laid out his views at the start of the meeting as a way to lay the foundation for the discussions about out of town developers receiving incentives from the city and how they can be applied to local, established businesses.

City attorney and economic development advisor Joe Lauber talked about economic development financing tools available to the city, through those used in the past and future ideas.

A handful of residents spoke about the subject, as did several of the aldermen.

Residents who were unable to attend the meeting or would like to provide comments in writing to contact the aldermen through their emails on the city’s website, bransonmo.gov.

A recording of the livestream of the meeting is available on the city’s YouTube page while a link to the wrap-up on the initial meeting can be found on the Branson Tri-Lakes News Website.
