After being absent from City Hall for nearly five months, Branson Mayor Larry Milton records a video with an update on his situation.

On the video posted on the City of Branson Facebook Page, Milton recounted the fall in his home on July 4 that resulted in a severe spinal cord injury that paralyzed him from the chest down. Milton recapped his journey from there, including emergency surgery and a stay in the ICU Unit at a Springfield Hospital followed by rehabilitation stops in Chicago and Ankeny, Iowa. Milton thanked all the people including local first responders for initial treatment in his situation. Milton also thanked the city staff including Administrator Cathy Stepp and Mayor Pro-Tem Clay Copper for keeping things going in his absence. Milton had been appearing remotely at some Board of Aldermen Meetings during his time away though Cooper conducted the meetings. 

Milton recapped some of the projects that are ongoing or started during his time away. 

Milton said he will be returning to Branson from Ankeny at the end of the month. He did say that he will probably be in a wheelchair and other physical limitations but that he will continue to lead the city as he has in the past. 

Milton did not specify when he would return to City Hall after his return to his residence.
