Branson Man Pleads Guilty to Unlawful Use of a Weapon

A man from Branson pleads guilty to resisting arrest and unlawful use of a weapon in court on Wednesday.

Michael J. Anderson was arrested in July of 2023 when he threatened a woman with a handgun, telling her he would shoot her if she came back home over the phone, according to the probable cause statement. Later, when she parked, Anderson approached her vehicle with the gun in his hand and said he was planning to shoot her and a child in the vehicle.

Anderson pleaded guilty as part of a plea agreement. He was given a suspended imposition of sentence, meaning he was not given a formal sentence, except that he is required to serve five years of supervised probation and submit to a mental health evaluation.
