A project several years in the making now has visible signs or progress.
Several dozen people gathered along Champaign Blvd. to witness the opening ceremonies and then the groundbreaking by an excavating shovel of the new Fire Station #4. Fire Chief Ted Martin, Mayor Larry Milton, and City Administrator Cath Stepp address the gathering.
The fire station is a $5 million project made possible with the passage in 2017 of the 1/2 cent Public Safety by Branson Voters. The contract was approved be the Branson Board of Aldermen earlier this month and full construction is expected to begin next week.
The ceremony and some interviews can be seen on the Ozarks Now Facebook Page.
