The Branson Board of Aldermen has sent their Christmas list to the boys and girls in Jefferson City.
The aldermen passed a resolution adopting the city’s legislative priorities for 2024. The list will be used by the city’s lobbyists and will also be provided to the elected state officials in the state House and Senate who represent the region.
The list of priorities from the city includes:
- The passage of legislation to remove ticket reseller loopholes so that tourism taxes are collected on the price paid or charged for admission tickets regardless of the transaction broker. Currently one law levies the tax on the amount an operator of a theater or attraction receives, and another law on the amount paid for the ticket.
