A blast of heat will hit the Lakes Region over the weekend ahead of a frontal system that will bring rain and storms to the region late Sunday night.
National Weather Service Forecasters predict high temperatures in some parts of the Ozarks could exceed 90 degrees on Saturday and possibly Sunday. Forecasters also state that high winds and low humidity will lead to an elevated fire risk on Saturday.
A major frontal system will approach the area bringing a chance of showers and thunderstorms in late Sunday night into Monday morning. Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible with the passage of the front.
