Big Cedar Lodge Among Group Sued in Death of a Teen

A lawsuit has been filed over the death of a teen on Table Rock Lake in 2022.

According to court documents posted in the Branson Tri-Lakes News, Big Cedar Lodge is included in the lawsuit filed over the death of 16-year-old Kendall Johnson. Kendall's parents Chris Johnson and Michelle Taylor claim in the suit that the 2022 Regency Pontoon Boat manufactured by White River Marine they rented from Big Cedar Lodge was defective and that Chris Johnson, who was the renter of the boat, did not receive proper instructions and cautions for the operation of the boat.

A group of people including the Johnson's were on the lake and the boat had stopped at an area near a cliff for the kids to swim when the boat was hit by a wake throwing Chris Johnson forward hitting the throttle moving the boat forward and into the swimmers including Kendall Johnson, who later died from her injuries.
