Arkansas Department of Education School Recognition Awards

Several area schools will be receiving funds through the School Recognition Program from the Arkansas Department of Education. 

According to the department, the program was created to provide financial awards to public schools that experience high student performance, student academic growth, and for secondary schools, high graduation rate.  

The Harrison School District is among those on the list of 163 schools receiving funds. According to the release, Harrison Middle School will receive $41,600 for finishing in the Top 6-10% Performance Category.

Other school districts in the region receiving funds based on performance include Eureka Springs and Valley Springs while Valley was also on a list of school districts receiving funds for Growth and Graduation rates along with Green Forest, Huntsville, and Jasper.
