The National Weather Service continues their surveys of damage from the line of severe storms that passed through the Ozarks on April 29.
While the majority of the Lakes Region avoided major damage, one tornado was confirmed that impacted part of northern Stone County.
The National Weather Service Survey Report says an EF-0 tornado began at 9:09 AM near the Lawrence County and Stone County line along CR 2210, about 2 miles west of Bradfield. The tornado had a path length of 3.06 miles, a width of 50 yards, and maximum wind speeds of 80 mph. It ended at 9:12 AM along Highway 413 just south of the Stone County and Christian County line. The tornado mainly uprooted many large trees in a convergent pattern, resulting in some nearby structural damage according to the report.
The National Weather Service also reports brief tornados touching down around Aurora, Fair Grove, and Nixa. The substantial damage done around the Springfield area was straight line winds that saw gusts of up to 90 MPH.
