Another Heat Advisory as Power Restoration Continues

While some areas are still recovering from the last round of storms on Monday, the hottest day of the year is ahead for parts of the Lakes Region.

Today’s Heat Advisory covers all of the Lakes Region with temperatures expected to get to 100 or higher with Heat Index readings as high as 107. Another warm day is ahead for Thursday with rain entering the forecast and expected to cool temperatures down by Friday.

Meanwhile, over 800 customers in the region remain without power due to Monday’s storms. As of 5:00 am, over 130 of those customers are in eastern Taney County with most of the outages remaining in western Ozark County.

In Marion County, Jim Kuckenbecker from the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) told KTLO that around 26 trees were knocked down with the recent storms with nearly 60 roads being washout or block with crews working throughout the day Tuesday to get things cleared-up.
