Abnormally Dry Conditions in the Lakes Region

Scattered showers in the region have not been enough to keep the region from falling into another dry pattern.

The latest release from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows the majority of the Lakes Region in an Abnormally Dry Level, which means that the threat of fire increases due to the conditions.

The Abnormally Dry Level exists in all of the Missouri Lakes Area Counties of Barry, Stone, Taney, and Ozark while in Arkansas, all of Boone, Carroll Counties along with the majority of Marion County are at that level. Parts of Madison and Newton Counties also are at an Abnormally Dry Level.

After a slight chance of rain today, there is a high chance of sustained precipitation in the forecast starting Sunday night and going through the day on Monday.
