The Taney County Health Department releases an updated count on the number of COVID-19 Deaths for August.
The Health Department, along with the Taney County Coroner and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, 10 more fatalities due to COVID last month. One of the COVID victims was in their 30's while the other nine deaths were of people between their 50's and 80's. The total number of COVID deaths in the county since the beginning of the Pandemic stands at 144.
Through the release, the Health Department continues to remind the community of the three tools available to decrease the likelihood of
getting COVID-19: vaccination, physical distancing, and wearing a face covering. The public is being asked to consider using more than one of these tools as part of a multi-layered approach due to the prevalence and severity of the Delta variant. Practicing good hand hygiene and staying home when sick continues to be important in reducing the spread of the disease.
