The Prince of Egypt: The Musical is a stage adaptation of DreamWorks’ 1998 animated film, itself inspired by the biblical story of Moses from the Book of Exodus. The musical follows Moses, a Hebrew child raised as an Egyptian prince alongside his adoptive brother Rameses, heir to the throne. Musically, the show blends contemporary musical theatre with Middle Eastern and choral influences. It features well-known songs from the film such as “Deliver Us,” “All I Ever Wanted,” “Through Heaven’s Eyes,” and “When You Believe,” along with additional material written for the stage. The tone is epic and dramatic, balancing large scale spectacle with intimate moments of faith, doubt, and brotherhood.
