Wilma “Irene” Overman, age 83, of Seligman, Missouri

Wilma “Irene” Overman, age 83, of Seligman, Missouri passed away Friday, November 18, 2022 at her home.

            She was born August 2, 1939 in Rock Springs, Missouri the daughter of Walter J. and Lora A. (Sparks) Bruton, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were one son, Billy Gene Scuddy, Jr.; three brothers, Jimmijo, Lloyd and Bob and three sisters, Norma Jean, Polly and Ruth.

            Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Sharp of Seligman, Missouri and Bucky Barger and his wife Tammy of Washburn, Missouri; three daughters, Teresa Smith of Seligman, Missouri, Tonya Sisco of Seligman, Missouri and Fetina Havens of Cassville, Missouri; one sister, Mary Alice Rose of Washburn, Missouri; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

            Irene attended school in Washburn, Missouri graduating from Southwest High School. She was employed at the telephone company in Washburn and Emerson Electric in Rogers, Arkansas for a few years before moving to several different states returning in 1986 to this area. She worked at Tyson Foods and then FASCO Industries in Cassville, Missouri from where she retired and later went to work at Walmart. Irene enjoyed reading and watching old westerns, dancing, playing softball, bowling, crocheting, playing cards and games. She loved the family sisters’ day but most of all she loved being with her family.

            Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Jerry Yarnell will conduct the services. Burial will be at Viney Creek Cemetery in Golden, Missouri.

            The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

            Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society in memory of Wilma.
