Loving mother, grandmother and sister, Valda Reed
Loving mother, grandmother and sister, Valda Reed, entered into Heaven on June 30, 2026 from her home in Branson at the age of 96.
Valda was born on May 28, 1930 in Dunning, Nebraska. She was one of five children born to Oscar & Olive (Johnson) Anderson and spent her youth growing up in Nebraska.
On September 25, 1952, Valda married her sweetheart, Darrel A. Reed who had returned from serving in the Korean War. They were blessed with over sixty-two years of marriage, giving them two daughters and a life full of great memories and service to God. They had lived in Nebraska and California before moving to Branson in 1972.
Valda had worked alongside Darrel in their furniture store and later worked at the gift shop on the College of the Ozarks campus. She was a faithful member of New Life Temple in Hollister. Valda had a heart for service and spreading the love of Christ. She was active in teaching Missionettes and she and Darrel traveled extensively across the U.S., sharing in the Campers for Christ ministry. Valda also enjoyed time with her family, especially her grandchildren that she adored.
Valda was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Olive; her husband, Darrel; and two sisters, Iona Schledewitz and Euvonne B Anderson.
She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Curry & husband Mike and Roxanne Webb all of Branson; her brothers, Andy Anderson & wife Karen of Sacramento, CA and Dr. Don Anderson & wife Jodie of Boulder, CO; her sister, Jeannie McIntosh; her two grandchildren, Rebekah Razali (Rizal) and Riley Webb (Kendra); six great grandchildren as well as extended family members and friends.
A celebration of Valda’s life will be held Friday, July 3, 2026 at 10:00 am at New Life Temple, Hollister with Pastor Bruce Haynes officiating. Valda will be laid to rest next to her husband Darrel in the veteran’s area of Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson at a later date.
Arrangements are in the care of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.
