Stephen Paul Monroe, age 80, of Branson, Missouri, passed away August 15, 2026. He entered this life May 12, 1946, the son of Winston and Mildred (Paul) Monroe in Wichita, Kansas. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Tom Monroe.
He is Survived by his son, Dustin Monroe, and his grandson, Cooper Monroe.
Stephen had a true appreciation for the outdoors and found joy in the simple pleasures that came with time spent on the water and open road. He liked fishing and boating, and he especially enjoyed motorcycles and cars, which reflected his love of freedom, movement, and adventure. He was an outdoorsman through and through, and he felt most at home when surrounded by nature and the experiences it offered. These interests were not only pastimes for him, but also meaningful parts of the life he built and enjoyed so fully.
He was also a people person in the truest sense. Stephen loved helping people and had a natural ability to make others feel welcome, respected, and valued. His generosity of spirit and willingness to lend a hand left a lasting impression on friends, neighbors, customers, and all who crossed his path. He had a way of connecting with others that made him memorable, and his presence brought comfort and encouragement to many. For 20 years, Stephen was the proud business owner of GB Tours in Branson, Missouri, where he dedicated himself to serving others and building something of lasting value.
Stephen Monroe will be remembered as a man of character, kindness, and steady presence. He lived with purpose and with a sincere appreciation for
life’s everyday blessings. His memory will remain a source of comfort and admiration to those who knew him, and his legacy will live on in the many lives he touched through his friendship, his work, and his generous heart.
A memorial service will be held September 18, 10:00 AM at Cremations of the Ozarks in Hollister, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
