Shirley Joan Ball

Shirley Joan Ball, age 87, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Mercy Hospital Springfield in Springfield, Missouri.

She was born February 20, 1935 in Exeter, Missouri the daughter of Mark and Clara (Anderson) May.  On July 6, 1951 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas she was united in marriage to Lloyd A. Ball, who preceded her in death on September 19, 2020.  Also preceding her in death were her parents; one grandson, Robbie and three brothers, Jimmy May, Walter May and Billy May.

Surviving are one son, Mark Allen Ball of Cassville, Missouri; one daughter, Kathy Keene and her husband Wes of Cassville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Clayton Daniel McCracken, Cristy McCracken, Holly Ann Rivera, Pelon Martinez and Benny Rivera; eight great grandchildren, Audrianna Danielle McCracken, Michael Rivera, Katia Knott, Marcus Rivera, Myia Rivera, Canyon Daniel McCracken, Kelby McCarty and Shena Knott and lifelong friend, Dimple Lewis.

Shirley grew up and attended school in Exeter, Missouri.  After getting married and starting her family she and Lloyd owned and operated Main Street Restaurant from the 1960’s through the 1970’s.  She later worked at Service America, FASCO Industries, Jumping-Jacks Shoe Company, Hardee’s and she also babysat a lot of children.  Shirley enjoyed cooking and baking and everybody always looked forward to drinking her famous sweet tea.  She took care of everyone but her grandkids and great grandkids were her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cassville.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 28, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Cassville under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.  Pastor James Weaver and Brother Tony Ball will conduct the services.  Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery in Cassville.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

Contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Cassville in memory of Shirley.
