Robert “Cooter” Dale Bainter Jr., age 63, of Galena, MO

Robert “Cooter” Dale Bainter Jr., age 63, of Galena, Missouri, passed away September 8, 2021, at home with family nearby. He entered this life October 11, 1957, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Robert Dale Bainter Sr. and Elizabeth Mae (Reid) Bainter.

Cooter proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He worked in the construction industry for many years. Being a man who enjoyed the outdoors, Cooter could be found hunting, fishing, and just being out of the house. Looking like Uncle Si from Duck Dynasty, people would come up to him and ask for his autograph; as a natural jokester, he would oblige by writing "Si" on the paper and go on about his business. He made many memories over the years and left broken hearts behind. He will be greatly missed.

Cooter is preceded in death by his parents; son, Paul Jason Bainter; and recently a brother, Ronald “Buckwheat” Bainter.

He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Durst of Gallipolis, Ohio; two sons: Alan Bainter of Ashville, Ohio and Nathan (Lacy) Bainter of Gallipolis, Ohio; sister, Susan Wolford of Gallipolis, Ohio; two brothers: Bill (Theresa) Bainter and Tim Bainter both of Galena, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
