Rev. Mark Allen Brush, age 80, of Ozark, MO

Rev. Mark Allen Brush, age 80, of Ozark, Missouri, left his Earthly home and entered his Heavenly home July 9, 2021. He was born January 25, 1941, the son of Ralph Eugene Brush and Dorothy Yvonne (Cole) Brush. His parents and a sister, Carol Landrith, have preceded him in death. Mark was joined in holy matrimony August 6, 1966, to Katherine Dunn.

As a lifelong servant to the Lord, Mark devoted himself to studying and spreading the good news gospel of God’s never-ending love to everyone he encountered. During his studies at Pillsbury Bible College, “Gunner” as he was known by his teammates, played football and was a standout basketball player. After earning his bachelor’s degree, Mark continued his education, earning his master’s degree in theology. Having a heart for teaching and children, Mark was a youth pastor for many years. He influenced many young people to enter ministry. Mark also started several missions, including Partners in Evangelism International (PIN). “Well done good and faithful servant”— Matthew 25:23.

Mark enjoyed music and sports, especially his beloved Chicagoland —Go Cubs! Those who knew him best, knew Mark as a likeable, fun-loving man who was very generous, often giving away one of the many watches in his personal collection. Most of all, Mark Brush lived his life according to Romans 12: 1&2— “Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God…not conforming to this world.”

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Kathy Brush of Ozark, Missouri; his three children: Angela Brush of Ozark, Missouri, Timothy Brush of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, and Amy Troutt and husband Robert of Ozark, Missouri; two adorable granddaughters: Evangeline and Anneliese Troutt of Ozark, Missouri; and a brother, Ralph Eugene Brush, Jr. and wife Jackie of Chicago, Illinois.

Mark’s family and friends will be celebrating his life and remembering the many memories he created at two gatherings this summer. The first will be held in Illinois on Saturday, July 31, the second gathering will be held in Minnesota on Saturday, August 14, 2021.
