Beloved mother and grandmother, Laurie Wood, entered into rest on Sunday, August 28, 2022 in Springfield, MO at the age of 98.
Services will be Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM with funeral services following at 12:00 PM. Burial will be in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.
Laurie Lee (Haney) Wood was born on November 7, 1923 in Springfield, IL. She was the daughter of Albert & Lucy (Kisinger) Haney. Along with being a loving wife and mother, Laurie worked outside the home in various jobs including accounting at an automobile dealership and as a reporter with the Kansas City Star. Laurie moved to Southwest Missouri in 1972 from Long Beach, CA. In her free-time she enjoyed working crossword puzzles and was an avid “wheel watcher” of Wheel of Fortune.
Laurie was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Herb Kiesel and William Wood; children, Sandy Kiesel and Dale Kiesel and sister and brother-in-law, Martha & Gene Childress.
Laurie is survived by her son, Dustin Wood & wife Anita of Highlandville; daughter Dixie Nettles of Paragould, AR; granddaugthers, Michelle Diman & husband James and Misty Maria Auten; one great-granddaughter Nicole Diman and her two fur babies, Poodog and Tutu.
