Johnny Eugene “Jack” Kimbrough, age 67, of Fairview, Missouri

Johnny Eugene “Jack” Kimbrough, age 67, of Fairview, Missouri passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Mercy Hospital Joplin in Joplin, Missouri.

            He was born November 30, 1954 in Wheaton, Missouri the son of Paul and Benny Joyce (Martin-Guinn) Kimbrough. On May 8, 1976 in Rocky Comfort, Missouri he was united in marriage to Patty Roechanne “Shawn” Edie, who preceded him in death on June 19, 2016. Also preceding him in death were his parents.

            Surviving are one son, John Kimbrough and his wife Nicole of Verona, Missouri; three daughters, Jennifer Allen and her husband Randy of Fairview, Missouri, Kelli Kimbrough of Phoenix, Arizona and Velma Kimbrough of Wheaton, Missouri; four brothers, Dewayne Kimbrough of Stella, Missouri, Danny Kimbrough of Stella, Missouri, Michael Kimbrough of Pineville, Missouri and Alan Hobbs of Kansas City, Missouri; four sisters, Pauletta Kimbrough of Noel, Missouri, Jeanie Kimbrough of Neosho, Missouri, Rowena Evans of Neosho, Missouri and Kathy Hicks of Stella, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Stormi and her husband Mariano, Sydnee, Nemo, Rexx, Justin, Olivia and Sophia, and one great grandchild, Roman.

            Johnny grew up in the Rocky Comfort and Wheaton, Missouri area attending elementary school in Rocky Comfort and high school in Wheaton, Missouri from where he graduated. While attending school he worked on the family farm and drove his tractor to school. After graduation, he had various jobs that eventually led him to construction as a heavy equipment operator. He had an outstanding work ethic that inspired those around him to work harder.  Johnny also had a way with storytelling and had friends everywhere; no one was a stranger and if they were, they would soon be a friend. Johnny loved racing his dirt bike, hunting, fishing and hunting for arrowheads until his health started to decline, he then enjoyed arts and crafts making knives and cracking pecans to share with his family and friends. He was of the Baptist faith and was saved at Wheaton Southern Baptist Church.

            Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Paul Wahlert will conduct the services. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, Missouri.

            The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.

            Contributions may be made to the Missouri Department of Conservation in memory of Johnny.
