His hobby was Ham Radios and his handcall was WB5AZP.  He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Kimberling City.

John is preceded in death by his wife, Cora Belle; grandson, Ryan Ledbetter; his parents; his Paternal Grandparents John Royal and Elizabeth ‘Lizzie’ Gibbs (Ross) Goff and Maternal Grandparents John and Emma (Reed) Todd, all from the counties of Henry, Knox and Stark, IL; and one sister, Lillian Ora (Goff) Smith Sanders.

John is survived by one daughter, Sandy Rice of Fredericksburg, TX; one grandson, Ty and wife, Toni Craft of Camp Pendleton, CA; son-in-law, Tony Craft of Lubbock, TX.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews from Illinois and CA; caretakers Jody and Travis Palmer and a host of friends.

Memorial service for John will be Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Stumpff Funeral Chapel Kimberling City, MO, with Reverend Tony Blevins officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home Kimberling City, MO.
