Illa Mae Hickam, age 74, of Granby
Illa Mae Hickam, age 74, of Granby, Missouri passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026 at her home.
She was born May 15, 1952 in San Diego, California the daughter of Illo Powell, Jr. and Kathryn (Ellis) Powell who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Illo Powell, III.
Surviving are her three sisters, Kay Baker of Georgetown, Texas, Kathy Minton of Liverpool, New York, and Kriss Hickman of Granby, Missouri and several nieces and nephews including John Baker and Martha Baker.
Illa grew up in San Diego, California graduating from Kearney High School in San Deigo, California. She worked for many years as an over-the-road truck driver. Eight years ago, she moved to Granby from Joplin, Missouri. Illa will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed camping, crocheting, and vegetable gardening and loved her cats.
Private services will be held at a later date.
